This new build Bar / Restaurant complex comprises three adjoined buildings, to break down the scale of the development and enclose outside ‘rooms’. Site position takes advantage of views and southerly aspect. The approach and routes through interior and exterior spaces are carefully staged, the sudden opening of views, flooding of light and connection between spaces is designed to provide drama and a sense of place.
Using form, material palette, scale and articulation the Scottish vernacular is combined with a modern sensibility to achieve a bespoke, site responsive solution for a building type which can often be stale and generic. Completed whilst at Threesixty Architecture.
